Description
There's blue, and then there's this blue. Blue Sky is a clear, happy cornflower blue with big chunky flakes that behave like the craft glitter you loved as a kid — except you can eat every bit of it.
This is the one I grab when a design needs a little party. It's gorgeous scattered over baby shower cookies, beach and pool sets, snowflakes and winter scenes, graduation cookies in school colors, and Fourth of July platters. It's also my favorite trick for drinks: a pinch in the bottom of a glass turns a plain lemonade or cocktail into something everyone wants a picture of.
How I use it:
Straight from the shaker — the easiest way. Hold the shaker a few inches above your cookies and tap gently for a scattered, confetti look. Do this while your icing is still slightly wet if you want the flakes to stay put permanently.
With a fluffy brush — tap a little glitter into a small bowl, load a dry fluffy brush, and tap or sweep it onto dried icing. This gives you much more control when you only want glitter on one section of the design.
In drinks — add a small amount to an empty glass, pour your beverage over it, and stir. The flakes swirl and catch the light as they move, and it keeps sparkling as people sip.
